In total, Amy and I made 72 pints of jam (we split it in half and each ended up with 36). So here they are in all their glory!!!
Next week? Spaghetti!!!

OK I have found it. I've figured it out. It took a long time, but I finally have found the secret to losing weight. It's a huge secret so if I tell you, you have to promise never to tell another soul. You promise? Cross your heart and hope to die? Stick a needle in your eye? OK here it is...
Wait for it...
Eat healthy and excersize!!! I know it sounds silly...but it works!! I've not been excersizing as much as I'd like but I am doing more than before. And I've been eating a lot of salads. And the weight is coming off! Ian even noticed. I think I just had to get to the point where I really wanted to be healthy. Of course I want to look good too, but I was so sick of being tired all the time and getting tired just carrying David upstairs. So there's my great big diet secret. :) Oh and I've also noticed that the healthier I eat, the more I want to eat healthy. But if I start the day off not eating well, my whole day is shot.

I decided I'm too much of a whiner so I removed this post. :)

I went to Young Women Girls Camp yesterday. It was in Idylwild - a beautiful foresty area in the mountains. I drove up with another YW leader and our nursing babies(the reason both of us couldn't go all week).
We got there early afternoon and left at 8:30. I wanted to stay for the campfire testimony meeting, but Jen's baby (Alyssa) was super tired and hadn't been able to get a good nap the whole time we were there. Anyway, when we got there we learned that a lot of the girls were homesick and really ready to be done. I dont remember anyone ever wanting to go home when I was a YW at camp, it was so fun! But their camp leader is a bit strict and harsh at times - not very compassionate, so I could see how they could miss their mommas.
When we first arrived they were finishing their free time while the leaders all had a meeting. Then we did some singing in the ampitheater. They sang the weirdest most random songs I've ever heard. Something about a moose drinking too much juice and getting sticky, a shark eating people, a squirrel that dies, and then some that weren't even real words. We had dinner (blah), headed back to the ampitheater for more weird songs, and then they had a treasure hunt (the theme was "Treasure Your Virtue") which was very fun and well planned out...but the bishops didn't follow the rules and the girls got all confused.
After that, we headed back to the ampitheater for more wacky singing (those girls sang about 40% of the time I was there!!). Then the Stake Presidency did some presentations and bore their testimonies which were awesome. And then they said the most awesome thing which is my whole reason for this post: They announced that next year's girls camp is going to be a high adventure/river rafting camp!!! I didn't even know you could DO that for girls camp! I turned to one of Bishop's counselors and told him not to release me till after that! :) He laughed and reminded me that you don't have to be called to YW to volunteer to come to camp. So...I am SO there!

A friend passed this video along. He said, "Be sure and watch the whole thing. Starts out slow, but after watching it all you understand why." I thought it was beautiful.

So I've decided it's time I get myself in shape. The weight from this baby has taken longer to come off than the other kids. Ian and I have been eating really healthy lately - a lot of salads - so the weight is whittling away slowly, but I'm still nice and smooshy. I've decided I need to excersize and there are very few things on this earth that I hate more than excersize (one of them being popcorn Jelly Bellies). But I don't mind water aerobics! And it just so happens that there's a pool just a few houses down from us. So I've been going every few days. It's awfully boring by myself so I've decided I'm going to "teach" a water aerobics class. And by teach I mean...whoever wants to come make a fool of themselves with me is more than welcome to join! I'm going to put the word out to some friends from church who live in our neighborhood, and then post a sign on the pool gates and one on the bulletin board by the gate that leaves our neighborhood. We'll see if I get any takers!

David's about a week away from turning 4 months old. He is such an amazingly good good baby. He's started talking a ton. He usually ends each "word" with a squeak or a high pitched squeal - it's so cute. And he continues to look more and more like his daddy, which is fine by me!
Here's a pic of his straight-jacket. He's a great great sleeper...as long as he can't get his arms anywhere near his face. As soon as he does, his rooting urge kicks in and he wakes up trying to suck on his fingers...only he's not coordinated enough to actually find a finger and suck on it. So we just keep him wrapped up tight. Recently though, he's been wiggling his little left hand out at about 3am, which is not very nice! So I now wrap that little hand with a receiving blanket. I feel bad when I put him down for naps and bedtime...but it's the only way he'll stay asleep for more than 20 minutes!!

My kids have the best daddy. There. I said it and I'm not taking it back. He's amazing. See?
So, Father's Day wasn't really all that exciting. Ian got to sleep in, we made him breakfast in bed (just eggs and a slice of toast...we're eating healthy now...losing weight). Then we all got ready for church... and gave him his presents: Emma's shirt says, "Daddy's Princess," and Mckenna's says, "Daddy's Little Angel." Could they be any more fitting for their personalities?? We also got him a Fossil watch(in the bag).
Then, he had to rush off to a meeting, we all went to church(the dads got Snickers), came home, had lunch, Ian played Cataan on the XBox, girls took a nap, we BBQed filet mignons, put the girls in bed, played with David:
and went to bed ourselves. :) He's a good daddy.
