Craft Fair

So I just signed up for my first craft fair...I'm so nervous! My friend Heidi and I are going to host a booth together with my bows and her tu-tu's. I totally forgot to ask when it is...I feel like such a dork. But I know it's not tomorrow because I'm meeting with the lady tomorrow to drop off a check and get more info - so I'll ask her then. Anyway...has anyone ever done something like this before? Any advice even if you haven't done it? Maybe you've gone to one before and saw something fun? And does anyone have any good ideas for what we should call our boutique/shop? I'm terrible at thinking up this kind of stuff. Everything I think of is either lame or super lame. But I can make bows! :) Yay!!

I'll think of names, but you should ask my mom, she's so good at coming up with stuff like that. good luck. I'd buy some bows from you!!

Do you need a name? Lots of booths don't have "names" - so I wouldn't stress about it.

I did one a couple years ago when I was doing a lot on ebay too. I kind of combined my stuff. My mom bought denim purses at Michael's and blinged them out - with bows and ribbon. They all sold out - I think she made 10 and sold them for $8.

I would do a couple more really girly things like that....like maybe ribbon flip flops, bling out some picture frames with crystals and maybe even some toddler sized shoes. Or do some cute "Princess" vinyl signs and put crystals on them. Heck, when is it? Maybe I'll make that stuff and put it in! :) Kidding.

Have fun.

That might be a fun name, if you need a name:)

Thanks Carrie!

Megan, I want a name so I can have an email address in case anyone wants to make a custom order. Or just for repeat customers. :)
It's Oct 27th...and you should make some stuff!! That would be so fun if you did. It's totally up to you - if you're feeling ambitious, go ahead! I was thinking of doing the flip flops, but you should do the other stuff you said, they all sound like great ideas! I just have to focus my time on bows right now so I can have enough. I still don't really know how many I should make. I think I'll need some holiday ribbon(so I may ask you to make a ribbon store run for me Megan!), but we'll see if I can convince Ian to let me buy more... I just thought I might sell more Christmas bows since it's getting closer to then.

Taya - that's an adorable name!! My sister thought of RainBOWS but I think I want more of a general girlie name so that I can expand if I want to.

I like Taya's - that's cute. Yah, my "fall" stuff didn't sell at the craft show I did, but Christmas stuff did!! I made super cute candy jars and I wished I'd made more!

I thought I saw those purses at Walmart, I'll look again. The candy jars were so cute, but they would be hard to mail. But I do know a few girls with a vinyl machine! :)

I saw Becca Crabtree and recognized your handiwork. She was excited about her bow and said you had just given it to her. You truly have a knack for making lovely bows!
P.S. Thanks for the tip about video clips!

Pretty bracelets is another fun thing to do. Also, IKEA has these really cute clear spice jars and I've seen then made really cute filled with candy and then you tie lots of cute ribbons around the lid.

Good luck! Sounds like fun!
